2010 Annual Gala

On Monday, May 3rd, 2010 SWHR hosted its annual gala dinner at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, celebrating 20 years of advancing women's health research. Representatives from NIH, FDA, HHS, CDC, Hill staff, health advocacy and patient groups, and good friends and supporters from the health industry were in attendance.

The money raised at the event directly supports SWHR's 2010 programs as well as ongoing public education and advocacy activities. Highlights of the evening included a welcome by Dr. Margaret Hamburg, FDA Commissioner and remarks by SWHR CEO & President, Phyllis Greenberger. Additionally, the 5th Annual Society for Women's Health Research Medtronic Prize for Scientific Contributions to Women's Health was awarded to Dr. Sabra Klein. The video, "20 Years Advancing a New Science: Sex Based Biology and Women's Health," completed the program with everyone in high spirits as they exited the ballroom for our signature dessert buffet.
