Other Ways to Contribute
There are numerous ways to contribute to SWHR. For more details on each opportunity, see below.
Combined Federal Campaign and United Way
Many companies will match contributions made by employees to qualifying non-profit organizations. By matching your gift, your employer may double, sometimes even triple, the amount of your contribution. To find out if you work for a matching gift company, check with the human resources or personnel department.
If your employer matches gifts, simply include the matching gift form from your company when you make a contribution to SWHR. We will take care of the rest.
Remember "Women's Health Research" in Workplace Giving Campaigns
The Society for Women's Health Research is proud to participate as Women's Health Research in a number of employee giving programs that allow donations through payroll deduction or as one-time gifts. Contributions received will assist SWHR in continuing and expanding our mission to improve the health of women through research. Please consider SWHR when making a contribution each fall.
The Society for the Advancement of Women's Health Research participates annually in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) for employees of the federal government and U.S. military through the Women, Children and Family Service Charities of America federation. To make a contribution to Women's Health Research, please designate CFC Code 10484 on your pledge card.
Like the federal government, many state governments have charitable fund drives for their employees. Each state has its own eligibility criteria and SWHR currently qualifies and participates in the following states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
Some United Way campaigns, such as the National Capital Area Campaign, include Women's Health Research in place of the Society for Women’s Health Research in their list of charities. Look for SWHR's code in your United Way donor brochure and enter it on your pledge card. If Women's Health Research is not listed, you may still be able to contribute through the "Donor Option" feature that many local United Ways now offer. If the donor option is available, write SWHR's complete name and address in the space provided on your United Way pledge card:
Society for Women's Health Research
1025 Connecticut Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20036
Finally, SWHR is included in some independent corporate giving campaigns. Check your donor brochure to see if SWHR is listed. Many of these charity selections are based on past giving selections of their own employees, so if you do not see SWHR listed and your company allows you to "write in" a charity, please designate SWHR or contact the HR department and request that Women's Health Research be included.
SWHR is very grateful for our past contributors and we hope that you will continue to support our mission in fall pledge drives.
