John R. Richert, M.D., is Executive Vice President for Research and Clinical Programs at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. In his prior academic career he served as Professor and Chair of the Department of Microbiology & Immunology, and Professor of Neurology, at Georgetown University Medical Center, where he conducted research on the immunology of MS and conducted clinical trials of new therapeutic agents. The work that he currently oversees includes the Society's $45 million annual research portfolio as well as clinical issues ranging from health care insurance and professional education to networks of MS Clinics and Pediatric MS Centers of Excellence. |
